soft pastels
I've been really into this medium recently! After admiring their beauty from afar for many years, I just picked up a set in January. And then a larger set not too long after. It was super intimidating trying to choose a set (not only because there are so many choices, but they're also sooo expensive!), but I ended up going with the Blick Artist's 60 half sticks. They've been working fairly well for me and come with a nice range of values and hues.

And these were done with the first set that I bought on a whim at a craft store. It consisted of bright rainbow colors with not much variation in tone; also, I didn't really know what I was doing, lol. I could probably go back over the trees at some point... but, besides that, I think they're pretty cute.
